How to Resolve the "ZIP Code Check Failed for Your Card" Banner

When you’re adding a payment method in Stack, you might see an error message saying “ZIP Code Check Failed for Your Card.” This occurs because Stack validates the ZIP code through our payment service provider to enhance security and prevent fraudulent activities. If the ZIP code you enter doesn’t match the one on file with your card issuer, this error will pop up.

To resolve this issue, make sure the ZIP code in your payment method matches the one on your bank statement. Here’s how you can update your payment information:

  1. Access the Billing Page

    • Head over to your account’s billing section.
  2. Select the Payment Tab

    • Click on the payment tab and find the edit icon next to your payment method.
  3. Add a New Card

    • Click on “Add New Card.”
  4. Enter Your Card Details

    • Input your card number and ensure you enter the correct ZIP code that matches your bank statement.

Note: If only the ZIP code is different, updating it will replace the existing card information.

Remember, the ZIP code you need to update is linked to your card details, not the billing address.

If you’ve confirmed the ZIP code is correct and the error persists, try the following steps:

  1. Contact Support

    • Reach out to our support team for further assistance.
  2. Provide a Bank Statement Snippet

    • We might need a document showing the last four digits of your card and the associated ZIP code.

Note: You only need to share a snippet with the necessary details, not the full statement.

Our team will coordinate with the payment service provider to resolve the issue.
