Apple Pay and Google Pay in invoices and Text2Pay links

Stack now supports Apple Pay and Google Pay for one-time and recurring invoices, as well as Text2Pay links. Your customers can use these payment options based on their location, web browser, and whether they have a payment method linked to their Google or Apple account. If these conditions are met, Apple Pay and Google Pay will appear alongside the standard credit card option.

Enabling Apple Pay and Google Pay

To enable these payment options, connect your Stripe account under Payments ➝ Integrations in Stack. Once connected, activate Apple Pay and Google Pay within your Stripe account settings. These options will then automatically appear in your invoices and Text2Pay links.

Note for Apple Pay

Apple Pay requires domain registration for payment acceptance. Stack handles this registration automatically when you connect your Stripe account, allowing you to offer Apple Pay as a payment method seamlessly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my transaction and order reporting change?

No, there will be no change. Stripe treats Apple Pay and Google Pay transactions like standard card payments, and they will appear on the Invoices and Transactions page.

Is there a pricing difference for transactions via Apple/Google Pay?

No, transactions processed through Apple Pay and Google Pay are charged the same as credit card transactions.

Can I use other payment providers like PayPal or Authorize.net?

Currently, Apple Pay and Google Pay can only be provided through Stripe Connect.

Are other payment methods like ACH available?

At this time, only Apple Pay and Google Pay are available through Stripe. ACH payments and other methods are expected to be available by Q3 2023.

Troubleshooting Apple Pay

1. Ensure the toggle for Apple Pay and Google Pay is enabled while Stripe is connected.
2. Verify that Apple Pay is supported in your country.
3. Confirm the domain hosting the invoice is registered with Stripe:
   • Visit your Stripe dashboard and check the Web Domains section.
   • If the domain isn’t listed, add it manually by clicking Add New Domain. If issues persist, contact support.
4. Ensure the domain association file is hosted correctly. You should be able to download the file from https://example.com/.well-known/apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.
5. Check that the customer is using a compatible browser and device:
   • Safari on iOS 10 or macOS Sierra and above.
   • Compatible devices with Apple Pay
   • Participating banks with Apple Pay

Troubleshooting Google Pay

1. Confirm Stripe is connected on the Integrations page.
2. Verify Google Pay is supported in your country.
3. Ensure the customer is using Google Chrome or Safari.
4. The customer must have a valid card registered with Google Pay.
