Surveys with Conditional Logic
Surveys in Stack can be enhanced with conditional logic to create dynamic and interactive experiences for respondents. This guide will help you set up and manage surveys with conditional logic effectively.
Key Considerations
Section titled “Key Considerations”-
Survey Fields Settings: Ensure that the ‘One field at a time’ option under Survey fields settings is turned Off. This setting is crucial for the proper functioning of conditional logic.

Utilizing Custom Fields: To implement conditional logic, use custom fields. The following custom field types support conditional logic:
- Checkbox
- Single Option
- Radio

Important Note on Custom Options: Avoid using the ‘Allow Add Custom Options’ feature with the Radio custom field type. Conditional logic will not work if a respondent adds a custom option and you attempt to redirect based on that choice.

Slide Configuration: For conditional logic to work correctly, custom fields with conditional logic must be the sole field on a slide. Do not combine these with any other fields, including basic text fields.

Disqualification Settings: If you need to disqualify a lead based on their response, use the ‘Disqualify immediately’ option. This prevents the lead from completing the entire survey, which is typically desired in conditional logic surveys.
