Link Custom Values to Text and Date fields: Documents and Contracts

Section titled “Linked Text and Date Fields”We’ve introduced a feature that lets you link text and date fields to custom values in your Documents and Contracts within Stack.
Flexible Linking
Section titled “Flexible Linking”Now, you can easily connect fields in a document to custom values, whether they pertain to contacts or the document itself.
Automatic Updates
Section titled “Automatic Updates”After a document is signed, any linked fields will automatically update in the relevant contact or document records.
CSV Download
Section titled “CSV Download”For easier tracking and data management, you can download a CSV file of all filled fields directly from your dashboard.
How to Use
Section titled “How to Use”Link Fields to Custom Values
Section titled “Link Fields to Custom Values”- Navigate to the Documents and Contracts section.
- Open the editor and create a new document.
- Drag and drop a text or date field wherever you need it in the document.
Add a Recipient and Link Fields
Section titled “Add a Recipient and Link Fields”- Add a recipient to your document.
- Click the link button at the top of the text or date fields to connect them to custom values.
- You can link a single field to multiple custom values if necessary.
Automatic Updates Upon Signing
Section titled “Automatic Updates Upon Signing”Once the recipient signs the document, the linked fields will automatically update in the corresponding contact or document record.
Download Filled Fields Data
Section titled “Download Filled Fields Data”To view all the filled fields in a document, go to your dashboard and download a CSV with the relevant data.

Section titled “Reduced Manual Updates”By linking text and date fields to custom values, we minimize the need for manual updates after documents are signed, allowing for seamless data synchronization with contacts.
Convenient Data Management
Section titled “Convenient Data Management”The ability to download a CSV provides a straightforward way to manage and analyze data from filled fields, making your document processes more efficient.
