What Are Conversation Filters?
Section titled “What Are Conversation Filters?”Conversation Filters in Stack are a powerful feature designed to help you organize and streamline your communication. By categorizing and locating conversations based on criteria like message type, assignee, or date, filters make it easy to prioritize and manage your interactions. This helps you stay organized, respond quickly, and manage your communication channels smoothly.
You can use filters to find specific conversations by:
- Contact Engagement Score
- Assigned (specific team member)
- Follower Assignment
- Last Message Channel/Type/Direction (e.g., inbound/outbound)
- Last Outbound Message Type (e.g., manual/automated)
- Last Message Channel (e.g., SMS, Email)

Applying Conversation Filters

- Click on the Filter icon in the Conversations panel.
- Select the criteria you want to filter by.
- The conversations will update based on your selected filters.
Sorting Conversations
Section titled “Sorting Conversations”Sorting options allow you to arrange your conversations in the most convenient way for you. Multiple sorting methods are available to ensure you can always find what you’re looking for quickly.
- In the Conversations panel, click on the Sort dropdown menu.
- Choose either Newest to Oldest or Oldest to Newest.
Starred Conversations
Section titled “Starred Conversations”Starred conversations help you highlight and revisit important messages, making it easy to keep track of high-priority interactions.
- In the Conversations panel, click the Star icon next to a conversation to mark it as important.
- To unstar, click the Star icon again.
Managing Multiple Conversations
Section titled “Managing Multiple Conversations”Handling a high volume of conversations is easier with Stack’s “conversation actions”, allowing you to manage multiple conversations simultaneously.
- In the Conversations panel, select the conversations you want to manage (up to 100 at a time).
- Choose from the following actions:
- Mark as Read/Unread
- Star/Unstar
- Delete
Frequently Asked Questions
Section titled “Frequently Asked Questions”Q: What is the maximum number of conversations I can select for managing multiple conversations?
There is no limit to how many conversations you can select at a time.
Q: How do I reset filters to see all conversations?
Open the conversation filters panel and click the Reset Filters button to clear all applied filters.
Q: Can I customize the types of filters available?
No, custom conversation filters cannot be created, but new ones are added regularly. If you need a specific filter, feel free to share your idea with us!
Q: Are actions like marking as read or deleting conversations reversible?
Certain actions like “mark as read” can be reversed, but “deleting conversations” is permanent, so double-check before proceeding.
