Documents & Contracts trigger inside workflows
Overview
Section titled “Overview”In Stack, you can utilize the Documents & Contracts trigger to automate workflows based on changes in the state of a document. This feature is versatile, allowing you to streamline various processes such as updating opportunity tags, sending invoices, attaching tags to contacts, or maintaining records via integrations like Google Sheets or Slack. These actions can be triggered after a document is sent, signed by a recipient, or completed by all participants.
Trigger Conditions
Section titled “Trigger Conditions”You can customize the trigger to activate under specific conditions, such as:

Document Status: The most common trigger condition, allowing workflows to start based on the document’s status:
- Sent: Initiates the workflow when the document is marked as sent by your business.
- Viewed: Triggers when the document is viewed by anyone other than the sender.
- Signed/Accepted: Activates when any recipient signs the document, which is useful for tracking signatures in documents with multiple recipients.
- Completed: Fires when all intended recipients have signed the document.

Template Name: Different workflows can be triggered based on the template used, such as Sales Proposals, NDAs, or Deal Closure Agreements.
